Austin Seminary seeks a Vice President for Institutional Advancement to oversee its comprehensive and integrated alumni engagement program and provide strategic direction for cultivating philanthropic giving. Located in Austin, Texas, Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary prepares pastors, educators, missionaries, and chaplains for the work of Christ’s church, offering graduate degrees and lifelong learning programs for those seeking leadership development and spiritual renewal.
The ideal candidate for this position is a seasoned leader with a demonstrated track record of advancing meaningful relationships to achieve fundraising goals. Knowledge of the Presbyterian Church tradition and its constituents or willingness to acquire such knowledge is considered extremely helpful.
The Seminary now has a new president and a new vision. This position presents the Vice President with the opportunity to partner with a dynamic new leader, assess the potential of the existing institutional advancement staff, and establish a team with the skills to build on past successes. The Vice President will be responsible for the following:
Reaching fundraising goals
The integrated role involves setting, assessing, and achieving fundraising goals and developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising plans and strategies to provide the Seminary with essential resources.
Fostering philanthropic relationships
The Vice President will solicit major and planned gifts and engage and steward Seminary alumni and donors while creating a culture of philanthropy and gratitude among all stakeholders.
Strengthening collaboration and innovation
Work effectively with leadership-level volunteers, colleagues in the President’s Cabinet, and the Board of Trustees to set priorities, strategize, improve performance, and provide operational oversight.
