The Meals on Wheels Foundation of Northern Illinois (MOWFNI) ensures that older adults and persons with disabilities stay happy, healthy, independent, and resilient by addressing hunger and food insecurity and providing opportunities to connect with their communities. Stretching across more than 3,000 square miles in IL, the MOWFNI provides home-delivery meal programs and is expecting to serve over 1 Million meals to nearly 10,000 seniors in 2024.

Position Overview

The MOWFNI seeks a dynamic Director of Development and Communications to lead and enhance the organization's fundraising efforts. Reporting to the CEO and managing the Development Associate, this role involves developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising plan, implementing a moves management strategy, and exploring innovative ideas for diversified funding streams. Responsibilities include:

Leadership and Strategy

• Innovate a multi-year fundraising plan
• Manage annual revenue goals and track performance with the Executive Director

Fund Development

• Expand donor and funder base while cultivating crucial pipelines of major donors
• Spearhead annual fund programs, grants, and government funding
• Develop a planned giving program and enhance corporate volunteerism

Reporting and Data Management

• Ensure the accuracy of fundraising data and prepare regular reports

Communications and PR

• Propel the launch of consultant-developed branding and brand strategy for the MOWFNI and its sister organization
• Advance PR, marketing, and communication materials

Events and Outreach

• Collaborate on fundraising events with outreach and volunteer teams
