Executive Search: The Foundation of the American Society of Retina Specialists

The Foundation of the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS) serves as a national advocate and primary source of clinical and scientific information and education for its members. It represents over 3,000 physicians in all 50 US states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and 63 countries.

For the first time, ASRS is seeking an entrepreneurial, charismatic fundraising leader to step into the role of Executive Director and help advance groundbreaking research, empower patients to safeguard their vision, and elevate the work of retina specialists worldwide. This remote position offers autonomy, creative freedom, and the chance to work with an engaged board of directors.

Responsibilities

This pivotal critical role offers the opportunity to:

• Developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program, including major gifts and corporate partnerships.
• Creating an annual communications calendar, print and digital materials, and the Foundation’s first Annual Report.
• Establishing governance structures, selecting a CRM system, and building a donor pipeline.
• Collaborating with ASRS leadership, members, and staff to strengthen relationships and increase engagement.
• Managing donor communications, event planning, and digital platforms, including the website and social media.

The ideal candidate is a self-driven and entrepreneurial leader with a proven nonprofit fundraising and communications track record. They bring exceptional communication skills, a passion for advancing medicine, and the ability to build programs and infrastructure from the ground up.
