Food For Free is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to dramatically grow an already established fundraising program at this dynamic, team-oriented organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a natural collaborator to lead dramatic growth while partnering strategically with the leadership team and CEO in the shared priority to expand access to fresh, healthy, delicious food for individuals experiencing food insecurity in Eastern Massachusetts.
One of the nation’s first food rescue organizations, Food For Free today distributes more than eight million pounds of food each year reaching more than 20 food insecure communities in Eastern Massachusetts. Lead Dynamic Fundraising Growth to Increase Mission Impact. Build on the established fundraising program to raise more money to meet increased need for services in the community, using proven strategy, planning, and solicitation skills.
Build a Team Rightsized to Hit Fundraising Goals. Lead the development team in establishing long- and short-term goals and priorities designed to grow Food For Free’s annual giving, major gifts, foundation/grant programs, government funding, corporate giving programs, and events.
Utilize Best Practices and Data to Drive Performance. Manage the organization’s growing portfolio of donors and funders with a relationship-based approach that utilizes a moves management strategy and KPI’s.
Manage your Own Portfolio and Partner with the CEO on their Portfolio and in Further Developing a Culture of Philanthropy. Engage and support development staff, the senior leadership team and CEO in cultivating and stewarding major gift prospects, including partnering on major gift solicitations and follow up.
Engage and Leverage the Board as Community Ambassadors. Actively nurture a culture of philanthropy with the Board, engaging members as strong community ambassadors for Food For Free.
