Madonna Mission provides education and resettlement support programs for refugee families in Chicago, focusing primarily on women and elementary school-age children. The not-for-profit organization seeks a dynamic Director of Development to expand funding in order to grow services designed to help students connect to resources and learn in a compassionate environment.
The ideal candidate for this position is enthusiastic about empowering and supporting refugee communities through education, and energized by this exciting challenge of growing revenue to deepen investment in helping refugees build self-sufficient lives.
Position Overview
Spearhead an entrepreneurial approach to fundraising
- Review grants, help to identify new opportunities, and steward foundation relationships
- Develop innovative plans targeting high-impact donors
- Establish annual and long-term fundraising goals
Engage in strategic and energetic collaboration
- Engage all Board members in identifying potential donors, partner in follow-up activities, and plan supporting fundraising efforts
- Develop strategic partnerships with corporations and foundations
- Work with the office staff to manage all donor documentation via DonorSnap (CRM system) to ensure accurate data entry and tracking, gift processing, and reporting
Skillfully manage development efforts
- Develop and manage the organization’s donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship process
- Demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills
- Create and lead fundraising campaigns and manage events
