The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington seeks a Chief Development Officer to drive the spirited growth of the organization's fundraising program. The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced development professional with an entrepreneurial mindset and a deep passion for making a difference.
An exceptional communicator with a proven track record of success, the Chief Development Officer will be capable of closing six- and seven-figure gifts by building and maintaining strong relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
Responsibilities
The Chief Development Officer will help build and lead the YMCA's culture of philanthropy, working together to establish long- and short-term fundraising goals, priorities, and policies that align with the YMCA's mission and vision. This strategic thinker and collaborative leader will build consensus, manage relationships, and drive strategic decision-making at the highest levels.
Dynamic Campaign Oversight
- Oversee campaign progress by establishing department objectives, benchmarks, and metrics
- Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects
- Oversee and implement financial, technical, and human resources
Collaborative Leadership
- Support the CEO, key leadership volunteers, and branch executives in meeting fundraising goals
- Engage senior staff and Board members in fundraising efforts and facilitate the Board Development Committee
- Serve as a lead ambassador for the organization
